Events

Throughout the year, the Native North American Travelling College engages knowledge holders and expert crafts persons to transfer cultural knowledge to community members and visitors.

Some events are on the NNATC grounds and we also travel to neighbouring communities. Events include the annual Friendship Day, National Indigenous Peoples Day, Strawberry Festival, conferences, and various workshops on culture and traditional arts. In the spring, the NNATC hosts the popular Akwesasne Children’s Powwow.

The NNATC also supports and participants in off-site events, including the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (September 30), the annual Akwesasne powwow, the Akwesasne Art Market, the Cornwall Cultural Festival as well as other events to which the NNATC is invited to participate.

These are great opportunities to check out vendor tables and food by local artisans. When funding and helping hands align, the NNATC shares our beautiful culture and space with Akwesasne and beyond with lots of knowledge for each event.

Stay tuned for more upcoming events such as community gatherings, workshops, and registration for classes.
